You are not required to log in through Facebook, but you are required to validate your identity if you wish to participate and be eligible for a prize.
How many surveys do I need to complete?
You may complete as many as you like, and you may log in at any time to complete additional surveys.
What will these survey results be used for?
This experiment cannot disclose any methodology to prevent bias in the participation process. You may, however, check at a later time if you wish to see the published results.
How can I help support future projects in music cognition?
You may donate money to the Biomusicology Research Foundation to further research developments in music cognition and other frontiers of science.
How many surveys can I participate in?
You may participate in all ten of them. The surveys are automatically randomized without the correct survey number being displayed. This prevents bias.
How long does it take to answer an audio survey?
Each survey has 20 questions, so it may take anywhere from 10-25 minutes depending on the individual.
How do I accurately report an audio clip’s music quality? I feel like I’m grabbing a number out of nowhere.
Prioritize your instincts to the best of your ability, or, in other words, don’t think about it. This experiment intends to measure instinctual mechanisms in music cognition rather than learned behavior.
How do I know whether this experiment won’t cause any adverse psychological effects on me?
